About The Position

The Quantum Computing Intern is responsible for exploring and developing quantum computing applications and evaluating the potential of quantum computing to solve complex business problems. This role involves working with quantum algorithms, quantum circuits, and quantum programming platforms, and collaborating with data scientists and engineering leaders to explore the potential to solve business challenges into quantum-amenable formulations. The intern will be part of a dynamic team, driving our data-driven culture forward with innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Engineering or a related field with quantum information theory and quantum computing coursework.
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Experience in quantum computing, quantum algorithms and quantum circuits, and at least one major quantum programming framework (Qiskit, Q#, CUDA-Quantum, or Braket).
  • Familiarity with current or near-term quantum hardware and cloud-based quantum services.
  • Knowledge of quantum information theory and quantum computing principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Explore and evaluate multiple quantum development platforms, including IBM Qiskit, Microsoft Azure Quantum / Q#, NVIDIA CUDA-Quantum, and Amazon Braket.
  • Design and implement proof-of-concept (POC) quantum algorithms and hybrid quantum-classical workflows.
  • Prototype and simulate quantum circuits using cloud-based quantum hardware and high-performance simulators.
  • Conduct literature reviews to stay current with advances in quantum algorithms, error mitigation, and near-term quantum computing techniques.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineering leaders to translate abstract business challenges into quantum-amenable formulations.
  • Document methodologies, platform assessments, and experimental findings to support future R&D planning.
  • Present research insights and recommendations to senior technical leadership.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in quantum computing and related fields.
