The Quality Technician 2 at Jabil, Inc. supports manufacturing operations by performing inspections, tests, and data collection to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications. This role involves identifying and documenting non-conformances and assisting in problem resolution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance or quality control role.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with various measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of products, components, and assemblies according to established procedures and specifications.
  • Conduct various quality tests using appropriate measuring equipment and tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators).
  • Document inspection and test results accurately and thoroughly, maintaining detailed records.
  • Identify, isolate, and document non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate containment actions.
  • Assist in troubleshooting quality issues and participate in root cause analysis activities.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with production personnel and engineering to address quality concerns and improve processes.
  • Perform first article inspections and provide feedback on new product introductions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced quality technicians as needed.
