About The Position

The Quality Technician will primarily support Laboratory operations at the Round Lake Manufacturing facility in Round Lake, IL. This position encompasses testing support for pharmaceutical products (biologics and drugs) through all stages of the manufacturing process including incoming raw materials, in-process samples and finished product and includes facility environmental and critical systems monitoring. The shift for this position is a day shift 6am-6:30pm

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED required & 2-3 years laboratory experience preferred.
• Must not be allergic to Penicillin, Cephalosporins, or their related products and /or materials.
• Visual acuity 20/25 Near Vision with or without corrective vision required
• Must not be color blind.
• Ability to meet requirements for performing visual inspection activities.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude in a highly dynamic environment.
• Occasional off-shift and weekend work required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Nice To Haves

• Background knowledge in basic laboratory principles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection testing on final products.
• Work under minimum supervision.
• Proactively and collaboratively connect with peers and management to ensure awareness of progress and issues; recommend solutions when issues arise.
• Use laboratory instrumentation and computer systems (i.e. LIMS) to collect and record data.
• Monitor inventory of supplies, equipment, and reagents; stock supplies as necessary.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance activities.
• Perform biohazardous waste disposal.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized lab area and perform regular laboratory housekeeping activities.
• Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs and specifications, FDA, QSR and cGMP regulations.
• Follow, understand and align with Baxter SOP’s and policies on cGMP’s and safety.
• Contribute to other laboratory tasks and projects as assigned.
• Will work in both Drug Delivery and Penicillin facilities as needed.
