Crawford Industries, now a part of Spartech, LLC has an opening for a Quality Technician on our team in Crawfordsville, IN. The Crawfordsville operation of the organization specializes in extruding and converting flat plastic sheet. Plastic sheet may have graphics added and then die cut into license plates, the “lamp shade” used in veterinary clinics, signage, file folders, 3-ring binders, covers for school date books, for example. We reuse our scrap plastic whenever possible to create our environmentally friendly products. General Summary and Essential Duties & Responsibilities We are currently looking for a Quality Technician who will test product batches, audit and monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. Test incoming raw materials and maintain Certificates of Analysis (COA) from suppliers.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Problem Solving Techniques
2 to 5 years quality/lab experience in manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Visual inspection and Color matching experience is very desirable.
Experience in plastic extrusion, web converting or films preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs standard tests on assigned product line production batches and on some incoming raw materials as needed, ensuring the meeting of Spartech and the customer’s specifications.
Responsible for issuing rejections if material is out of specification.
Recommends to production and may develop adjustments to meet specifications.
Records test results in SAP and maintains reference files.
Completes and maintains all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
Collects, stores product retains and samples.
Ensures all gauges and test equipment are verified.
Performs calibration and maintains records for lab equipment as needed.
Audits process to ensure proper paperwork is completed and process is within establish limits
Participate in investigations of complaints and corrective actions as needed.
Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations.
Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
Completes and sends documentation to customers (i.e. COA).
Other duties as assigned.
