POSITION SUMMARY: The position summary states the general nature and purpose of the job. Overall accountabilities are defined in this section. Tests and inspects products and equipment at various stages of the production process. Monitors employee practices for conformance to quality and food safety standards. Maintains quality of products by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor food quality and food safety programs including but not limited to SSOP, SQF, HACCP, Pre-Requisite Programs, QCP’s and CQCP’s.
  • Performs process audits for verification of compliance to programs/policies for Smithfield Foods with the entire facility and SQF Level 3 by completing required documentation.
  • Ensures audit compliance with all food safety and quality policies, GMPs, HACCP, Pre-requisite programs, and SQF Level 3.
  • Adheres compliance to the net weight program.
  • Product Quality audits on all products produced to ensure meeting specification requirements.
  • Collect shelf-life and water samples as needed.
  • Collect daily product evaluation samples as needed.
  • Smithfield Food Safety Policy 13 and 14 (USDA) sampling and compliance.
  • Perform end of shift organizational duties and maintain proper housekeeping throughout the shift.
  • Must be responsible for assigned radio and must follow proper radio etiquette.
  • Follow GMPs, Safety and Quality Assurance rules and procedures.
  • Must wear required PPE.
  • Report any concerns to a member of management.
  • Must be certified to operate any PIT.
  • Must be LTT certified and follow all LTT procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
