While reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for auditing key activities in the Production process which affect product quality. You will assist in problem resolution by providing basis date analysis and monitoring key quality indicators. You will also identify non-compliance situations and take action to effect correction. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail. Through the use of problem-solving techniques in routine job activities and team settings, all responsibilities are performed in a manner which ensures the quality expectations of every customer, both internal and external, are met or exceeded. Measures critical product/process variables, records or reports using appropriate tools and utilizes information to continually improve. If unable to maintain processes within established limits or meet specifications, is fully authorized to stop the operation and seek assistance. This position is in our Plastics plant in beautiful Waynesville, North Carolina. We are producing plastic thermoformed trays. · We expect you to be Toppan's mission driven · You have to have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.

Requirements

  • To succeed in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
  • You need to have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.
  • Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.
  • You will need to be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
  • Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
  • You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
  • 2-5 years of manufacturing-operations experience

Nice To Haves

  • Quality Technician Certification highly desirable
  • Knowledge of quality process highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct audits of production and quality activities to ensure procedures are followed and standards are upheld.
  • Review database information to identify quality problems. Interpret data to identify trends and quality issues.
  • Prepare reports including spreadsheets and graphics, summarizing quality data and quality problems.
  • Communicate information regarding quality issues to Shift supervisors, line operators, Process technicians, other quality personnel and direct supervisors.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
  • Be proficient in all quality-related tests.
  • Deliver training to line operators and other auditors.
  • Maintain records to comply with regulatory requirements, GMP,HAACP.
  • Help train new employees with necessary.
  • Perform duties in an accurate, precise, neat and orderly fashion.
  • Organize thoughts and work effectively in a changing environment.
  • Must be able to correctly follow housekeeping policy.
  • Other duties as requested by Supervisor.
  • Conduct required off-line testing for products.
  • Ensure all customer feedback are completed on time, root cause is identified and implemented.
  • Assist in analyzing all customer feedback for trends and continuous improvement.
  • Involved in corrective action and preventive action process.
  • Assist in process capability studies as deemed necessary.
  • Assist and/or train plant personnel in GIQ quality system.
  • Assist in maintaining customer property.
  • Assist in maintaining process for document control.
  • Document COA’s, COC’s as required.
  • Participate in customer visits.
  • Defines quality concepts and quality processes, including statistical basics, etc.; applies quality tools; interprets information and data; applies team concepts.
  • Where applicable, support the food safety team to organize its work, ensure relevant training and education of the food safety team members, ensure the food management team system is established, implemented, maintained and updated, and report to the organization’s top management on the effectiveness and suitability of the food safety management system.
  • Must know which measurements and test equipment (M&TE) tools are appropriate for various tasks and how to assess tool accuracy and precision; understands the concepts of standard traceability for M&TE.
  • Understands and applies basic inspection and testing techniques, including various types of sampling plans.
  • Understands and applies various quality audit types and their components, tools and techniques.
  • Must be able to control nonconforming material.
