About The Position

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily quality assurance and quality control operations to ensure products meet established standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This role leads a team of quality inspectors and technicians, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Requirements

  • BS degree in a technical field and/or 3 years' experience working in the Quality field in a manufacturing setting and or retail product distribution.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, metrology, and quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, PPAP).
  • Familiarity with quality standards and ability to interpret drawings/specifications. (e.g., GD&T, ASTM standards)
  • Previous supervisory/management experience
  • Excellent technical writing, mathematical and computer skills
  • Must have excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Must be task oriented – Use time wisely
  • Must interact effectively, and positively, with other departments and external suppliers/customers.
  • Employment with Umarex USA is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ISO 9001 is a plus
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, firearms, air guns and airsoft is a plus
  • Willing to travel internationally
  • Ability to use diverse measuring instruments and mechanical ability is a plus
  • Professional appearance and a great work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Supervises quality inspectors.
  • Assists source inspection team in Asia by communication of quality requirement and acceptance.
  • Responsible for training, maintaining, and improving the first article, receiving and quality audits inspection processes of assemblies.
  • Responsible for maintaining and dispositioning products on quality hold.
  • Responsible for onsite inspections, process reviews and new product approvals internally, and domestic/international suppliers.
  • Responsible for maintaining corrective action and non-conformance processes of Umarex and Walther.
  • Responsible quality analysis of product returns, KPI's, and management reports.
  • Implement, maintain, and communicate with Director of Quality to improve the company's processes and products.
  • Interact with suppliers, customers, and source inspectors effectively and efficiently through personal contact, e-mail, and phone conversation for quality related issues and or improvements.
  • Assist in monitoring inspections for Walther Arms, Walther Manufacturing, and Umarex USA, including external source inspections.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop standardized product approval test plans.
  • Assist in writing test procedures, work instructions and standardized documents.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and monitoring the QMS.
  • Collaborate with other departments to find creative solutions to quality challenges.
  • All other duties as assigned.
