About The Position

SmallHD designs and manufactures cutting-edge display products for both the independent filmmaker and cinema industry. Their monitors are used worldwide to consistently provide creative professionals with real-time confidence in their image. SmallHD products are known for their durability, premium display quality, and incredible user interface. The Quality Supervisor will ensure that the quality department operates in a way that is conducive to SmallHD meeting product quality standards, including the quality of incoming materials, assemblies in progress, and finished goods.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of quality inspection roles
  • Reading mechanical and electrical Engineering specifications and drawings to determine critical dimensions or features for inspection
  • Creating inspection and test procedures from existing templates
  • Developing new methods and procedures from scratch
  • Communicating issues clearly and unambiguously to co-workers and material vendors through written documentation
  • Managing rework/replacement/retest activities
  • Troubleshooting and simple repairs of test equipment (e.g, replacing cables)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing is a strong plus
  • Experience in a supervisory role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establishing procedures and practices to meet quality standards and reduce scrap
  • Working with vendors to ensure they are meeting agreed-upon quality and that they have the necessary tools to do so
  • Collaborating with Operations teams to ensure that final product quality is inspected timely and meets quality standards
  • Collaborating with engineering and service teams to determine root causes of failures
  • Overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Quality team
  • Review and correct timesheets for payroll processing
  • Manage time-off requests to ensure that adequate staffing is available at all times
  • Ensure that department inventory is accurate by establishing procedures and ensuring the team is working within those guidelines
  • Use computer systems and written documentation to inspect, measure, or test the item to ensure it is ready for assembly
  • Analyze data, create spreadsheets to share analysis, identify trends, and determine plans for improvement
  • Use tools such as calipers and gauges
  • Follow safe handling guidelines for sensitive electronics and ensure your team follows suit
  • Make electrical connections and operate test equipment
  • Consistently and accurately describe any defects found
