Quality Supervisor

About The Position

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supervising and advising quality employees as assigned. This position will plan and assign work to satisfy internal and external quality requirements as determined and published by UA, UA Customers, and ISO. This position will be responsible for holding quality employees accountable for company and individual goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES: Work with other Supervisors, Leads, and production staff to support product flow in shop. Plan and establish work schedules and assignments to coordinate with production sequences. Ensures proper quality department coverage across all working shifts. Coordinates the activities of auditors and technicians as a cohesive team to address all quality work required on the production floor to ensure product flow. Review in-process quality failures and determine the disposition of nonconforming material. Identify quality-related training needs, ensuring they are delivered to appropriate staff on a continuous basis as required. Monitors work activities to ensure that tasks are completed on a timely basis. Changes or adjusts work assignments in response to management direction or priority situations. Evaluates all quality audit results in relation to product specifications. Determines “pass" or “hold" on borderline cases. Evaluates production and product problems related to quality. Advises manufacturing management, leads, production employees, and quality teams on quality issues. Checks quality rejected material to identify quality problems. Trains, instructs, and orientates employees to Company and departmental procedures. May delegate instructional responsibilities to designated subordinates. Cross trains employees to provide back-up assistance to others in the department. Oversee and maintain the company’s Calibration System. Ensures effective communication amongst direct reports and peers to maximize efficiencies and reduce downtime. Work with Human Resources to assess and resolve conflict situations. Document disciplinary actions and follow UA’s progressive disciplinary policy for all direct reports. Approve/Deny vacation requests of direct reports based on the company policy. Able to flex their work schedule when required or as requested. Work with departmental leads and production staff to ensure there is proper communication with other shifts. 3rd to 1st, 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd. Maintain positive relationships with all executive staff, managers, supervisors, and employees. Understands, supports and ensures compliance and adherence to all company policies and procedures. Follow safe manufacturing practices and promotes a safety culture. Conducts all performance reviews as applicable. Always leads by example and acts in a professional manner. Suggests ideas for continual improvements for all quality-related areas. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred 20/20 vision in at least one eye and must not be color blind required. (Magnifying lenses (readers, cheaters, etc..) are allowed if the employee normally uses them to read) Minimum of 5 years of related production and quality experience – metal fabrication concepts and processes exposure a requirement Able to operate overhead cranes, tape measure, basic hand tools and air tools Effectively read and interpret blueprints Well-developed human relations / people management skills; able to delegate authority and provide guidance, direction, goals, feedback and discipline. Able to develop positive working relationships with a wide range of people Strong written communication and presentation skills Strong overall computer literacy, specifically with Microsoft Office Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to make quick and appropriate decisions. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
