About The Position

Quality Process Engineer Job Summary: The Quality Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing, validating, and improving quality processes across the organization. This role identifies opportunities to enhance efficiency, compliance, and product quality, while ensuring alignment with GMPs, industry standards, and internal quality systems. The position will work closely with R&D, Quality Operations, and Quality Systems teams and reports to the Director of Quality, Regulatory Compliance, and R&D. The role is on site at 4201 Pulaski Highway at Pompeian Baltimore HQ.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Engineering, Operations, or Process Improvement
  • Strong knowledge of computer programs, digital tools, and information systems
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments
  • Knowledge or experience of manufacturing and process improvement methodologies
  • Ability to work effectively within an organization across multiple departments including Production and Logistic
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to understand internal Quality goals

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge or experience related to Food Operations preferred
  • Knowledge or experience of GFSI standards

Responsibilities

  • Conduct direct observations of GMPs, 5S, prerequisite programs, and lean manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead process improvement initiatives from concept through implementation
  • Develop and execute action plans to support new or revised quality processes
  • Update relevant documentation to support new and improved processes within the guidelines of our Quality Systems, BRC, and ISO 9001 requirements
  • Perform R&D testing to validate packaging improvements and product changes as directed by the R&D Manager
  • Identify non-compliances and conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and manage implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address and prevent recurrence
  • Monitor the completion, verification, and effectiveness of implemented corrective actions
  • Assist in writing, revising, and maintaining Operating Procedures, and related quality documents
  • Use written procedures to support employee training and ensure proper execution of quality-related processes
  • Ensure all tasks comply with environmental regulations and company’s sustainability initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and written procedures
  • Communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Work collaboratively and support cross-functional teams to improve quality processes and operational performance
  • Responsible for reporting any observing non-compliances
  • Promote and reinforce GMPs, safe work habits, clean and organized workspaces, and proper PPE usage for all employees and visitors
  • Follow all sanitation, housekeeping, chemical handling, and glass GMP requirements
  • Perform duties per Pompeian mission, goals, and core values
  • All other duties and tasks assigned
