About The Position

Pebble is a sustainable living startup defining a new way to live, work, and explore from anywhere with a 100% electric, hassle-free RV trailer. Built by a team of experts in both automotive and consumer technology, Pebble combines electrification with cutting-edge automotive technology for a travel trailer experience that removes the hassles RV owners have struggled with for decades. Pebble is looking for a Quality Process Engineer to own the development and continuous improvement of standard work instructions, cycle time performance, and Material Review Board (MRB) processes across our manufacturing floor. You'll work closely with quality inspectors, manufacturing operators, and the design engineering team to build the process infrastructure that supports safe, efficient, and scalable production.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or process quality engineering, in the automotive or adjacent industry is nice to have.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting cycle time studies and optimizing standard work
  • Familiarity with ergonomic and safety regulations as they apply to manufacturing work instructions
  • Experience driving MRB meetings and managing nonconforming material processes
  • Proficiency with quality problem-solving methods — fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability, statistical analysis, DoE, etc.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and quality management systems (QMS)
  • Strong data analysis skills; ability to collect, interpret, and communicate process trends
  • Excellent written communication skills — you can translate complex processes into clear, operator-ready instructions
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building quality processes from scratch is a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Standard Work & Process Optimization — Develop, streamline, and maintain standard work instructions (SWIs) for quality inspectors and manufacturing operators; continuously identify and implement opportunities to reduce variation and improve efficiency
  • Cycle Time Studies — Conduct time studies across assembly and inspection operations; analyze results to identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement, and drive implementation of changes
  • Non-Standard Work Instructions — Partner with the Design Engineering team to author non-standard work instructions for complex or first-of-kind operations, ensuring alignment with cycle time targets and safety/ergonomic (ERGO) regulations
  • MRB Process Ownership — Establish and manage the Material Review Board process, including data collection frameworks, meeting cadence, and stakeholder engagement to drive timely disposition of nonconforming materials
  • Data Analysis & Trend Identification — Collect and analyze quality and process data to identify recurring trends, patterns, or systemic issues; surface insights through regular reporting to internal teams
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — Work alongside Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production teams to ensure that drawings, inspection instructions, tooling, and work instructions are consistent, complete, and current
  • Continuous Improvement — Lead problem-solving efforts using QA methodologies (fishbone, FMEA, corrective/preventive actions, etc.) and apply process capability and statistical tools to drive measurable quality improvements
  • Qualitative & Quantitative Reporting — Develop and submit weekly and monthly reports on process performance, yield trends, and corrective action status; present findings in quality team meetings
