We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Quality Systems Manager to join our Plant Quality team and help us drive Operational Excellence throughout our facilities. THE ROLE Drive Continuous Improvement of Quality, Delivery, and Cost Metrics Coordinate with Corporate Quality and Plant Management to review and improve quality procedures / processes, driving improved quality and On Time Delivery (OTD) performance. Actively manage the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of quality systems throughout Plant. Provide hands-on leadership and oversight of the quality system, including, development of specifications, control plans, corrective action, and mold qualifications. Develop and Execute Internal Quality System Audit Program Develop a Quality Management System (QMS) audit process to drive internal procedure and standard conformance. Develop annual audit plans and develop and train the audit team. Conduct audits in compliance with applicable ISO standards. Work with plant teams to develop corrective action plans and verify corrective action plans for effectiveness. Maintain audit documentation. Promote Quality Awareness and Employee Engagement in the QMS Develop, train, coach, and motivate plant teams in the areas of Quality Improvement, Quality Policy, Measurement and Analysis, Quality Metrics, Customer Satisfaction (NPS) and Quality Systems/ISO requirements. Develop Quality department performance goals and objectives. Develop communication and training plans for Quality Awareness and Engagement. Manage Key Corporate QMS Processes Oversee the key Corporate QMS processes and programs and maintain proper documentation. Provide training for key Corporate QMS processes, including Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA), Change Control, Complaint Management, and Supplier Quality. Provide Analytical Support to Plant and Technical Operations Teams Provide analytical support in the form of statistical analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE’s) and capability studies. Develop mold qualification protocols, data, qualification data packets, data collection systems, and data-based recommendations for improvement. Additional Responsibilities & Skills for our SQF Certified Sites:    Have a basic understanding of the cGMPs and Good Hygiene Personnel Practices  Notify SQF Practitioner and/or Supervisor of any repairs or adjustments that are required.  Perform Basic Sanitation Functions  Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, and or Regulatory Requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company, HACCP, and SQF.  Notify SQF Practitioner/Quality Manager or any other Management personnel of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues.  Identify problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the raw material, processes, quality system, or safety system, by performing Production/Quality Checks as assigned.  Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system. Be able to execute and follow the HOLD SOP.  Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.  Employee follows all Food Fraud/food Defense Policies while on company property.  Thorough understanding of all Company policies, including GMP’s and safety policies, HACCP & SQF. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University in Statistics, Engineering, or a related field; or an Associate degree / technical school certification with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft office suite, database administration, ERP, CMMS), with proficiency in managing and creating pivot tables in Excel and PowerPoint development and presentation skills.
  • Excellent data entry skills, using Microsoft word, Excel, IQMS or similar CMMS asset management system.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals.
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, excellent leadership qualities with ability to manage various technical resources.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, including communication of complex projects in straightforward terms.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of QMS experience.
  • Knowledge of Regulated Industry (CFR Part 820 Quality System Requirements, the ISO family of standards, particularly ISO 13485 and 9001, others as the corporation certifies to them).
  • Knowledge of the safety requirements and complexity of working with automated and semi-automated production and inspection systems in a factory environment.
