About The Position

Alkar Steel and Processing is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to oversee our quality control processes and ensure compliance with industry standards and assist us in producing quality products that exceed our customer‘s expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management, quality assurance, internal and external audits and testing laboratory experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in quality management and quality assurance
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control processes and procedures
  • Proven knowledge of steel processing and metal forming operations and steel specifications relating to the   automotive industry
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with employees and   customers at all levels.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to analyze data and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement policies and processes to ensure the production of quality products.
  • Establish the quality policy and objectives of the Metallurgical Testing Laboratory.
  • Carry out all necessary quality activities that are needed to support the Testing Laboratory’s quality policy,   management system documentation, and all customer requirements.
  • Perform, at a minimum, an annual review of all elements of the management system of the Testing    Laboratory.
  • Schedule and act as lead representative on all registration and surveillance audits for ISO 9001 and    ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Act as lead internal auditor for the company. Lead the internal audit process. Create and publish audit   schedule for all internal auditors, and coordinate audit events.
  • Lead the Management Review effort including performance reporting and data analysis.
  • Report on the performance of the quality system and Testing Laboratory at Management Review.
  • Coordinate the Corrective/Preventative Action and Continual Improvement programs.
  • Maintain and establish document and data control.
  • Develop inspection and testing policies and methods to ensure quality products are shipped to customers.
  • Establish and maintain an effective training program. identify needs, provide individual and group training,     and evaluate the effectiveness of training efforts.
  • Provide superior on-site support and coordinate the customer complaint process. Investigate and resolve    complaints.
  • Coordinate all outside lab testing and PPAP submissions. Coordinate all testing and submission of    Proficiency Testing data for the laboratory.
  • Analyze and provide disposition on returned material. Assist Purchasing department (where applicable)   with vendor material issues.
  • Participate in APQP activities.
