The Quality Manager for the Bethlehem, PA site will ensure all manufactured products at this plant under him/her responsibilities comply with Quality, Food Safety customer requirements and regulatory through lab test and validation schemes. This is inidivdual will manage a team of 3 direct reports and this is a 24/7 plant operation and the manager will be required to be on site as required to perform the position. There will be minimal travel required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Microbiology, Food science, Industrial engineer / Chemical Engineer or Engineer IMA., or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality & food safety systems.
  • Knowledge – certified and experience with relevant consensus systems such as IFS, SQF, BRC and FSSC22000.
  • Knowledge about Allergens, microbiological topics, Kosher, HACCP, GMP´s, Quality systems and Pre- requisites program, internal audits.
  • Knowledge about Microsoft Word (Excel, Word, power point, etc).
  • Applicable food processing technology expertise and statistical process experience
  • Qualified background in food chemistry, sensory, microbiology, food packaging systems & food engineering
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor GMP, food safety and SQF requirements across entire site.
  • HACCP site lead and Food safety team member, providing guidelines and support for all operations team in aspects like verification and yearly validation HACCP plans, pre requisites program, New and update new HACCP.
  • Leader of the inmate of the crisis committee for Food Safety requirements
  • Ensure that all food safety management systems based on GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) certification are in accordance with the requirements of the current standard.
  • Responsible for participating in new product meetings (NPI) ensuring the execution of risk assessment for food safety based on HACCP and customer requirements when applicable.
  • Attend customer audits, USDA, FDA, Kerry group items and any audit related to the area of quality and food safety.
  • Administer the sanitation team to ensure that sanitation risks are reduced.
  • Manage environmental monitoring program.
  • Develop training based on the risks raised in HACCP with a focus on risk prevention.
  • Ensure the implementation of corporate food safety programs.
  • Ensure that all action plans are managed, and generated risk analysis based on the risk map. Manage action plans based on CAPA, using intelex portal for root cause analysis.
  • Conduct risk assessments systematically to avoid deviations that may affect the performance of the plant and our customers.
  • Responsible for managing third party companies, service providers such as Pest control, chemicals, cleaning and conservation of the environment and calibration of critical equipment based on HACCP.
  • To be the focal point for good manufacturing practices, change management, preventive maintenance for food safety, foreign material program, golden 6, allergen control, food defense, etc. Ensure that all prerequisites are carried out to avoid possible risk of food safety.
  • Perform risk trend analysis and ensure that leadership levels receive all the strengths and weaknesses of the management system based on HACCP, SWAT and risk map analysis.
  • Responsible for reducing customer and consumer complaints.
  • Be the point person at the site for regulatory inspections (USDA/FDA/CFIA), identify preserved (ie, organic, kosher) and customer audits.
  • Lead RFT initiative at Clark and support other sites in implementing the process.
