About The Position

The Quality Manager leads the Quality Management System across both in‑house manufacturing and co‑manufacturing locations, with accountability for document control, incident management, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action), hold/expiry management, and food safety compliance, supported by three direct reports. The position is also responsible for qualifying co‑manufacturers, ensuring compliance and release of externally produced products, and managing corrective actions and non‑conformances. By maintaining robust quality systems and oversight across internal and external operations, this role plays a critical part in protecting product integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and safeguarding consumer trust across the organization. This fully onsite position is located at our Franklin Park, IL manufacturing facility and is primarily first shift (8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m), with occassional flexibility to support additional times into other shifts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering, Microbiology, or a related technical field
  • 4+ years of experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry
  • 3+ years of relevant manufacturing and/or quality experience
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, including line management
  • FSMA PCQI certification preferred (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • Certified auditor & HACCP certification, strongly preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak English is required to comply with verbal directions, signs, policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, dietary supplement, and quality management systems (e.g., NSF, SQF, FSMA, GFSI, GMPs)
  • Expertise in statistical process control, structured problem solving, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop 8 quality team members responsible for production line quality assurance, incident management, CAPA, hold/expiry management, and compliance reporting
  • Manage foundational Quality Management Systems, including sensory programs and consumer complaint management
  • Partner with the Food Safety Team Lead to ensure compliance with Q&FS requirements through HACCP and Food Safety Plans, preventive controls, and data‑driven improvements
  • Oversee compliance programs, including document control, internal audits, third‑party audits, CAPA, and training, ensuring alignment with NSF, SQF, FSSC, and dietary supplement regulations
  • Own incident management and CAPA programs, ensuring timely escalation, root‑cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and trend analysis to prevent recurrence
  • Lead management of quality nonconformances in production, ensuring proper investigation, escalation, and resolution
  • Ensure sensory and consumer complaint programs are effective, with timely investigation and escalation of issues
  • Represent Quality on innovation and commercialization project teams to ensure new products meet quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Own Net Content Management processes and the DMO (Digital Manufacturing Operations) quality module
