About The Position

U.S. Boiler Company, a subsidiary of Burnham Holdings, Inc., is headquartered in Lancaster, PA, and specializes in designing, engineering, and manufacturing residential and commercial heating products exclusively for the North American market. The company employs nearly 300 individuals from the local community. They are currently seeking a full-time Quality Inspector to join their team in Lancaster, PA. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and reliability of products by inspecting them at various stages of the production process.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to learn other mathematical functions, as needed, to perform other duties.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of database software.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing software.
  • Knowledge of word processing software.
  • Basic Microsoft Word & Excel knowledge.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Is clear & understood when communicating, either verbally or in writing; can communicate quality issues to Engineering or other departments in a way that helps identify problems; has good grammar and spelling.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience preferred.
  • ASME experience a plus.
  • Boiler experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Reads & interprets engineering drawings/blueprint reading, schematic diagrams, bills of material and other documentation needed to perform inspections.
  • Inspects boilers, sub-assemblies, kitted cartons, machine castings, and other components.
  • Quarantines nonconforming product and writes nonconformance reports.
  • Processes NC material per manager’s requests.
  • Assists with testing of components or completed boilers.
  • Assists with programming of controls.
  • Uses various measuring equipment such as calipers, bore gauges, and thread gauges.
