About The Position

The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring Exalta products meet customer specifications, internal quality requirements, and applicable regulatory standards (medical device manufacturing experience is a plus). This role is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections using precision measurement equipment, with a strong preference for hands-on experience with Keyence, Sylvac, and/or Starrett systems. The inspector will interpret engineering drawings, apply GD&T, accurately document results, and support the control of nonconforming product. This position partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance to provide inspection results in order to quickly identify issues, support investigations, and drive corrective actions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training/certification in inspection)
  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device manufacturing strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
  • Demonstrated experience using precision measurement tools; experience with Keyence, Sylvac, and/or Starrett preferred
  • Working knowledge of GD&T fundamentals and ability to interpret engineering drawings/prints
  • Strong documentation habits and ability to record inspection results clearly and accurately
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and meeting production deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a regulated industry, especially medical devices (ISO/FDA environment a plus)
  • Experience with TrackWise and/or formal Nonconformance (NC) processes (initiation, documentation, dispositions, containment, and follow-up)
  • Experience performing First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process inspection, and final release inspection
  • Programming experience on measurement systems (Keyence / Sylvac / Starrett)
  • ASQ certification (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector) or equivalent quality credential
  • Familiarity with SPC basics, gage R&R concepts, and measurement system repeatability best practices

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
  • Operate measurement equipment and inspection tools, with emphasis on Keyence, Sylvac, and/or Starrett systems (and supporting equipment as needed)
  • Apply GD&T concepts (datums, position, profile, flatness, runout, etc.) to ensure inspection methods match design intent
  • Accurately document inspection results, maintain clear records, and ensure traceability to product, lot, and inspection method
  • Support the identification, segregation, and documentation of nonconforming material, including participation in the NC workflow (TrackWise experience is a plus)
  • Communicate inspection findings to Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering and support timely issue resolution
  • Assist with continuous improvement by identifying recurring defects, measurement challenges, and opportunities to improve inspection efficiency or repeatability
  • Maintain good housekeeping and proper care/calibration handling of inspection equipment and gaging
