About The Position

The Quality inspection tech will work in the quality lab to inspect first pieces, in-process and final inspections to ensure final product meets all company and customer requirements. This is a hands-on position for someone with experience measuring parts and preferably working in a cutting tools environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Perform inspections on tooling and other manufactured items to determine conformance to all specifications. Utilize various measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, gages, etc. Must be able to measure a part of a surface plate. Understand and perform to all current quality standards. Experience in ISO policy and procedures a plus. Prepare and update company and customer inspection records as required. Communicate inspection results effectively with co-workers and supervisors. Understand and use concepts like absolute position, geometric tolerance and stack-up. Use basic statistical techniques for evaluation of measurement data and trending. Basic understanding of machining to support findings to the production floor. Perform safe operation of machines or equipment used. Accurately completes all required paperwork. Keep work area clean and organized. Support plant safety procedure

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relative experience required.
  • Requires great attention to detail and the ability to read drawings and specifications
  • Previous experience machining or quality inspection required
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves
