About The Position

The Quality Improvement Coordinator performs specialized quality, regulatory, and performance improvement support functions for the organization. This role partners with leadership and departments to ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and internal quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant healthcare quality, regulatory, or administrative certification.
  • 2-3 years progressively responsible experience in hospital quality, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, performance improvement, or related healthcare operations required.
  • Strong background with a demonstrated commitment to healthcare quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and patient safety.
  • Knowledgable and experienced with independent regulatory interpretation, survey readiness participation, and measurable quality outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulatory standards, accreditation processes, and hospital policy management.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret regulations, abstract and validate data, and support structured performance improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Experience with EMRs (e.g., Epic) and familiarity with MIDAS or similar data management platform (strongly preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in a related field (e.g., CPHQ, CPPS, or similar) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Aids Quality department with data entry and abstraction for regulatory, accreditation, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participates in the hospital's compliance with regulatory standards, including preparation for surveys, audits, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Supports Quality department in the development, monitoring, and reporting of quality metrics and dashboards.
  • Assists Quality Department by abstracting, validating, and analyzing data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
  • Facilitates the hospital's policy and procedure management process, including documentation control, periodic review cycles, and coordination with department leaders in accordance with governance standards.
  • Assists Infection Preventionist in the review and tracking of infection surveillance data and required reporting.
  • Assists Director of Quality with complaints, grievances, event reporting, and follow-up tracking in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Works with departments to implement improvement initiatives, track action plans, and support sustainable process improvement efforts.
