About The Position

A Quality Technician is responsible for establishing requirements which meet the plants monitoring, inspection, and propose measures to correct or improve a company's final products and processes to meet established quality standards. Their duties include preparing and implementing quality assurance gauge calibration, policies and procedures and perform routine inspections and quality tests. They identify and resolve workflow and production issues and ensure that standards and safety regulations at the company are observed.

Requirements

  • Associates degree OR 3 years of Quality experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with AIAG's APQP and core AIAG core Quality Tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical & electrical drawings, and government specifications.
  • Excellent math skills, conversions from English to metric and decimals to fractions on part specifications.
  • Proficient use of various measuring tools such as gages, calipers, micrometers, vision system and CMM.
  • Ability to interpret blue prints and specifications and standards such as UL/CSA
  • Ability to work with others at various levels - good interpersonal and teaming skills

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and create corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis and control of nonconforming material.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and other industry standards.
  • Perform audits of processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audit findings, and corrective actions taken.
  • Coordinate aspects of PPAP's including capability studies, GR&R's, data analysis, and all other documentation.
  • Assist with Quality Lab testing as needed. Collect and ship raw material samples as needed. Conduct process audits as assigned. Complete electrical testing.
  • Assist in managing any quarantine non-conforming material and create non-conforming material tag.
  • Create and implement quality control programs and procedures to enhance product quality and compliance.
  • Use and program various measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, vision system and CMM.
  • Assist with training of Quality employees (and others, if needed)
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
