About The Position

The Quality Engineering Technician I is the technical resource within the Quality department. The primary objective of the position is to champion the development, improvement, implementation, and validation of effective and efficient processes, systems, tools, methods, and requirements, ensuring that Mustang Survival products are of the highest quality. Strives to consistently reflect Mustang Survival’s vision, values and goals in all undertakings by actively and enthusiastically assisting internal & external customers; continuously increasing personal level of expertise in the position and profession; driving continuous improvement in products, processes and systems, and demonstrating a high level of professionalism, communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or combination of relevant work/school,
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems and concepts.
  • Experience conducting technical conformance reviews of products and processes.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing or design & development Quality role or a similar field.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret technical specifications, drawings, standards, and regulations.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office, Windows and Internet is required.
  • Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards.
  • Integrity and willingness to be the voice of quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform product and quality system audits.
  • Willing to perform all other quality related tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work with autotomy, finding answers/solutions with colleagues and driving actions to completion with efficiency.
  • Strong mechanical ability (hands-on skill) combined a natural aptitude for problem solving.
  • Ability to prepare professional technical reports and presentations.

  • Technical Diploma is an asset.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the setup and implementation of testing protocols, and the design, specification, and construction of test equipment. Knowledge of programming knowledge and methodology is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Quality Engineers in implementing in production and improving performance/documentation requirements, testing techniques, inspection methods, reliability standards and overall quality.
  • Conducts internal quality reviews, process/product evaluations, and failure analysis.
  • Compiles and maintains evidence of conformance to requirements and generates technical reports for internal and external customers.
  • Supports the implementation of Quality Control Plans (i.e. inspection plans) during manufacturing, initiating appropriate action for non-conformances including production hold, stop ship or recalls.
  • Understands material, construction, and quality requirements for different product/material types and provides or facilitates disposition to facility staff about acceptability of items.
  • Works with Engineering to release and manage technical documentation/forms into production.
  • Administer and coordinate Quality related activities/administration tasks within the PLM, ERP and QMS.
  • Support Production Quality team to analyze raw material and product non-conformances via failure/root cause analysis, dispositions them, and conducts compliance follow-up.
  • Eliminates recurring non-conformances through Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA).
  • Plans, investigates, executes, and reports on CAPA items.
  • Investigates, resolves, and prevents recurrence of customer complaints.
  • Liaise between production, production quality and quality engineering to identify and improve processes.
  • Identify continuous improvement actions and track their progress to completion.
  • Trains Production Quality team on new and updated processes.
  • Audits Production Quality processes to ensure compliance to internal, contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
