What You'll Do Ensure Quality from Start to Finish Inspect incoming raw materials, BOM items, and parts returning from outside processing—you're the first line of defense Conduct hands-on mechanical inspections using visual and dimensional methods to catch issues before they become problems Document your findings in our MES system (ProShop) and help maintain our reputation for excellence Master Advanced Metrology Master precision measurement tools—from calipers and height gauges to sophisticated CMMs and FARO laser scanning arms Operate advanced metrology equipment including microscopes and optical comparators Learn to select the perfect measurement method for each unique characteristic Support Quality Planning & Problem-Solving Create dimension-tagged drawings and develop inspection plans that actually work Partner with manufacturing teams to catch potential issues before they happen Dive into root cause analysis and help solve real manufacturing mysteries Design Solutions That Matter Use 3D printing and CAD skills to design custom inspection fixtures that make everyone's job easier Work within our AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management System—gain experience that opens doors across industries Expand Your Manufacturing Toolkit Jump into diverse roles based on where you're needed—from CNC operation to mechanical assembly to coordinating with vendors Build a versatile skill set that sets you apart What We're Looking For You've Got the Foundation Enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related program Understanding of how metrology and measurement techniques work Natural problem-solver who loves digging into the "why" behind issues Obsessive about details (in the best way possible) Bonus Points If You Have Experience with machining, 3D printing, or other manufacturing processes Can read mechanical drawings and know your way around GD&T 3D CAD skills to bring your ideas to life Familiarity with quality tools like FMEA, control plans, or SPC Worked in regulated environments (AS9100, ISO 13485) Passion for automotive, aerospace, or space technology Who You Are Precision-obsessed – You notice details others miss and take pride in getting it right Adaptable – You thrive when things move fast and priorities shift Endlessly curious – You ask "how does this work?" and actually want to know the answer Tech-enthusiastic – The idea of operating laser scanning arms and CMMs excites you Team-focused – You know great quality is a team sport and love collaborating Ownership-minded – You believe quality is everyone's responsibility, including yours Improvement-driven – You're always looking for the better way to do things Versatile – You're ready to roll up your sleeves wherever you're needed most Physical Requirements Ability to move safely throughout a manufacturing environment, including shop floor, warehouse, and loading areas, working safely in industrial environments with noise, dust, fumes, and chemicals. Ability to maintain stationary positions (seated or standing) for prolonged periods and to stand, walk, and perform hands-on material handling for extended periods as needed. Ability to lift, carry, and move materials or boxes up to 60 lbs with the assistance of another team member. Ability to operate pallet jacks, carts, or similar material-handling equipment after training. Ability to wear all required PPE—including respirators—for long durations..
