About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to support sterile processing operations by ensuring the highest standards of instrument cleanliness, assembly accuracy, and quality assurance. This role combines hands-on sterile processing responsibilities with critical inspection, documentation, and compliance tasks to support patient safety and operational excellence. The position emphasizes quality control beyond standard technician duties, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal protocols.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in sterile processing (e.g., CRCST, CIS)
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on sterile processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of decontamination, assembly, and sterilization procedures
  • Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and IFUs
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques (e.g., steam sterilization, infection control)
  • Experience operating autoclaves, washer disinfectors, and related equipment
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic tracking systems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a proactive mindset

Responsibilities

  • Follow ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs), SOPs, and internal work instructions
  • Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment using proper PPE and protocols
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble complex surgical instruments
  • Accurately assemble and package instrument trays and sets
  • Operate washers, sterilizers, and related equipment safely and effectively
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage prior to packaging
  • Document missing or damaged instruments per established procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and inventory
  • Perform daily data entry and documentation tasks
  • Ensure compliance with infection control policies and quality standards
  • Participate in audits and quality assurance processes
  • Monitor and maintain instrument and supply inventory levels
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of sterilization equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and processing areas
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and operations staff
  • Provide feedback and recommend improvements to workflows and procedures
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications and competencies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
