About The Position

This position will train on 1st shift, but ultimately it is intended to be either a hybrid schedule between 1st and 2nd shift, or straight up 2nd shift. In this role, you will be responsible for physical testing of production batches with a focus on meeting current product specifications and plant scheduling requirements. Activities you will perform include sample preparation and testing, along with the use of roll mills, injection molders, moisture analysis, spectrophotometers, etc. You will make adjustments to batches (ensuring proper documentation) and will notify the production supervisor as to the batch status. You will also clean equipment and stock materials. Any prior QC experience is a plus, but we will provide all training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required (some college a plus)
  • Minimum of a year of related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have basic proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to follow procedures, with consistency
  • Proficient in basic math
  • Aptitude as self-starter
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills
  • Proven ability to follow procedures
  • Proven attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Any prior QC experience is a plus, but we will provide all training

Responsibilities

  • Review test findings with Quality Control Manager
  • Evaluate dormant raw material for possible use
  • Computer data entry of analytical test results and statistical data
  • Maintain and disseminate shop floor information
  • Communicate pertinent quality information to other shifts
  • Participate on Continuous Improvement Teams when deemed appropriate
  • Conduct lab testing of manufactured product (product batches that are both in process and finished)
  • Make comparative displays using a lab scale 2-roll mill, extruder and injection molder
  • Conduct melt-flow analysis & assist with overall general product analysis
  • Conduct both spectrophotometric and visual color inspection
  • Weighing and mixing of ingredients, test materials, etc.
  • Cleaning of equipment, lab and general housekeeping
  • Other duties as assigned
