About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Specialist with strong civil and structural expertise to support a federal government construction project. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring all civil and structural features of work meet contract requirements, design specifications, and federal standards. The QC Specialist will work directly on the project site, assisting and reporting to the QC Manager. This position is dedicated solely to quality control functions and cannot perform any production duties.

Requirements

  • Civil Requirements Graduate Civil Engineer or Construction Manager with a Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the state of Texas. 2 years of experience in civil-related construction work on similar project types , OR A technician with 5 years of related civil construction experience.
  • Structural Requirements Graduate Civil Engineer (Structural Track preferred) or Construction Manager with a Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the state of Texas. 2 years of experience supervising structural construction features, OR A person with 5 years of structural construction experience in the field.
  • Must be employed directly by the general contractor (not a subcontractor or supplier).
  • Must be qualified to perform quality control activities across civil and structural disciplines.
  • Must have strong documentation, communication, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working on government, military, DoD, or USACE projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated QC Specialist for civil and structural construction activities as defined by the projects QC Plan.
  • Physically present at the work site daily to conduct QC activities and support the QC Manager.
  • Perform the Three Phases of Control: Preparatory Phase Meetings Initial Phase Inspections Follow-Up Inspections
  • Review plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
  • Document inspections, deficiencies, and corrective actions as part of continuous quality oversight.
  • Participate in QC meetings and coordination sessions with project stakeholders.
  • Ensure each definable feature of work (DFOW) under civil/structural disciplines meets government acceptance criteria.
  • Assist with training events, QC documentation, and support Critical System Acceptance inspections conducted by the Government.
  • Function as an extension of the QC Manager, maintaining rigorous quality standards for all assigned scopes of work.
