About The Position

The Quality Control Specialist is vital to the risk team to ensure that loans follow applicable federal/state laws and Gulf Winds policies and procedures. The person in this role is responsible for reviewing consumer loans as outlined in the quality control program, including reporting on the accuracy of documentation about loan policy, guidelines, and procedures.

Requirements

• Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
• A high school education or GED.
• Willing to obtain and maintain applicable certifications.
• Knowledge of Credit Union and Industry - Consumer Lending procedures, policies, and regulations with respect to assigned job functions.
• Good listening and telephone skills; proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, personal computers, PC operating systems, peripheral equipment, etc.
• Able to operate a 10-key calculator, typewriter, and computer keyboard; able to make decisions with minimum information.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English clearly.
• Normally expected to work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. but may be required to work nights and/or weekends.
• Must adhere to safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs final review of closing packages for accuracy of pricing, loan data, and completed items; documents exceptions as needed. Reviews loan pricing to ensure the loan closes at the correct interest rate and correct cash-out limitations. Conducts other checks on loans as outlined in the quality control program and procedures. Maintains and distributes monthly loan review reports, tracks and reports trends, and immediately reports repetitive or significant errors to the VP of Risk Management.
• Maintains knowledge of consumer lending policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Looks for efficiencies in the administration of assigned and related functions; recommends changes to supervisor.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
