What You’ll Get to Do The Quality Specialist is focused on process observations, analysis, audits and inspections of the metal and reports to the Quality Manager. This role is perfect for an individual who has attention to detail . As a vital member of the Quality Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and perform quality work.
  • Capable of working under pressure, especially while addressing customer complaints
  • Ability to use standard hand measurement devices (calipers, micrometers, square, and protractor) with ability to learn other process specific measurement instruments required.
  • Ability to read die drawings and/or engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Must have commitment to working safely and supporting the facility safety efforts.
  • Must have basic computer skills with knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office software; experience with Excel, EPICS, EPICOR, and/or SAP a plus.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic process knowledge of manufacturing operations in relation to metal processing and/or fabrication a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily processes and material while conducting audits of specified quality checks
  • Assist with addressing reported internal quality issues
  • Gather, enter, and analyze process data to create reports to facilitate improvement
  • Analyze and assist with problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Participate in implementation of corrective actions with process owners.
  • Assist in the decision process to accept, rework, or reject any nonconforming material
  • Facilitate and coordinate tracking and follow-up on any rejected order, discrepancy, MDR, or complaint
