About The Position

We are seeking an experienced MEP Quality Control (QC) Specialist to support a federal government construction project. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems meet contract requirements, design specifications, and federal standards. The QC Specialist will work directly on the project site, assisting and reporting to the QC Manager. This position is dedicated solely to quality control functions and cannot perform any production duties.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Requirements Graduate Mechanical Engineer with a professional engineer registration in the state of Texas and 2 years of experience or 5 years of experience supervising mechanical features of work in the field with a construction company
  • Electrical Requirements Graduate Electrical Engineer with a professional engineer registration in the state of Texas and 2 years of related experience or 5 years of experience supervising electrical features of work in the field with a construction company
  • Must be employed directly by the general contractor (not a subcontractor or supplier).
  • Must be qualified to perform quality control activities across Mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Must have strong documentation, communication, and technical problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on government, military, DoD, or USACE projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated QC Specialist for MEP construction activities as defined by the projects QC Plan.
  • Be physically present on-site daily to conduct QC inspections and support the QC Manager.
  • Perform the Three Phases of Control for all MEP definable features of work: Preparatory Phase Meetings Initial Phase Inspections Follow-Up Inspections
  • Review MEP plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
  • Document inspections, deficiencies, and corrective actions to maintain continuous quality oversight.
  • Participate in QC meetings and coordination sessions with project stakeholders.
  • Ensure each MEP definable feature of work (DFOW) meets government acceptance criteria.
  • Assist with training events, QC documentation, and support Critical System Acceptance inspections conducted by the Government.
  • Function as an extension of the QC Manager, maintaining rigorous quality standards across all MEP scopes.
