About The Position

The Role This position assists with all activities related to QC and inventory control within the warehouse environment. Their main objective is to ensure that all materials are properly stored and that accurate and appropriate levels of inventory are maintained in order to meet customer demands. The QC responsibilities include inspecting all inbound and outbound product to ensure that company quality and dating standards are met. This position will work closely with the receiving group to identify any quality issues with incoming product and take the appropriate action. QC will also work closely with the Purchasing Department to resolve quality issues.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years produce industry experience, or an equivalent amount of education and experience.
  • Ability to multi task and plan and carry out projects with well-defined goals and outcomes
  • Possess excellent communication and relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Good judgment and the awareness of financial impact of decisions
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity and perform work at a level which promotes a positive image of the organization and the marketplace
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, with emphasis in Excel

Responsibilities

  • All employees are responsible for food safety and are expected to notify the appropriate manager, supervisor, or key personnel if they witness any compromise to food safety or food quality
  • Walk the warehouse and cold rooms multiple times daily, inspecting the overall quality of ALL inventory in the facility. This includes opening cases, checking receiving dates, and proper case rotation in the pick slots.
  • Work with Warehouse staff to check back stock products on upper- tier racking
  • Work with Sales and Buying departments to recommend movement of product to Repack Department and/or clearance.
  • Work closely with Buyers, QA, and Operations to communicate needs and opportunities
  • Participate in internal and external Quality audits.
  • Report to management on quality and food safety issues and trends
  • Monitor physical inventory ensuring all pick slots are checked daily
  • Record shortages, lack of movement, age, and visual quality of inventory
  • Report physical inventory to the Buyers in order to update system accuracy
  • Communicate concerns and opportunities to Sales and Buying Staff
  • Manage expiration dating and product rotation
  • Achieve target shrink goals
  • Provide SKU rationalization recommendations
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.
