About The Position

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is searching for a Quality Control & Inventory Analyst for our location in Fort Pierce, FL. The Quality Control & Inventory Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all finished concrete poles meet company, industry (ACI), and customer specifications before shipment. This role involves inspecting the final finish, dimensions, and structural integrity of poles, conducting repairs, managing the finished goods yard inventory, and coordinating with logistics for shipping. The individual acts as the final gatekeeper to ensure only high-quality products leave the facility. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in quality control or inventory management, preferably within a precast concrete or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and customer specifications
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods on uneven terrain, climb on ladders/forms, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Basic computer proficiency (Windows, Excel) for inventory tracking

Nice To Haves

  • ACI (American Concrete Institute) certifications preferred
  • Experience operating a forklift or overhead crane is a plus
  • Ability to obtain concrete field technician level 1 certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection on finished poles for surface defects, such as honeycombing, cracks, spalling, or discoloration
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and straightness of poles against shop drawings and project specs
  • Inspect finishing treatments, including sandblasting, water washing, or painting, ensuring proper sheen and uniformity
  • Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming products (put on "Hold") and initiate rework procedures
  • Conduct post-pour inspections and verify proper curing, lifting, and storage of finished products
  • Maintain accurate records of all finished goods
  • Perform regular cycle counts to verify physical inventory matches system records
  • Coordinate with shipping/dispatch to select the correct, cured products for upcoming jobs
  • Inspect finished poles one final time during loading to ensure no damage occurs during storage or handling
  • Complete daily QC reports, inspection logs, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) clearly and legibly
  • Submit finished product inspection reports to the Plant Manager
  • Document finished inventory levels and report inventory shortages or damaged product trends
  • Ensure consistent mixes and make proper adjustments based on the external conditions
  • Understand the roll of chemical additives and moisture content to meet customer specifications
  • Manage aggregate inventory levels and communicate needs to suppliers
