About The Position

The Quality Technician monitors and tests products, materials, and processes to ensure they comply with company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. They help identify defects, analyze issues, and support continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years of work experience in quality, preferably in a machining environment
  • Experience with CMM operation and programming
  • Solid understanding of GD&T
  • Knowledge of the proper use of various equipment and inspection methods, including the use of FARO arm and laser scanning equipment
  • May require successful completion of specific education, training or certification.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy, precision and attention to detail
  • Accessing Customer Portals
  • Assisting with Calibration and Maintaining the Calibration Log
  • Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch and bend.
  • Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering for truck.
  • Walk, sit or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks.
  • Push / pull 100lbs.
  • Work in a non-climate controlled environment, including hot and humid conditions.
  • Walk up and down steps
  • Climb ladders and stairs of varying height
  • Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Protective Footwear; Hearing Protection
  • Protective Eyewear
  • Gloves
  • Additional PPE may as required by specific tasks

Responsibilities

  • Program and inspect parts using Polyworks CMM software
  • Assist Machinists with process and product improvements
  • Complete FAI documentation
  • Generate balloon prints, complete dimensional inspection reports, and compile inspection data for PPAP submission
  • Conduct routine quality testing of in-process or finished goods using various forms of measuring equipment, ensuring compliance with blueprints, company standards, and customer specifications
  • Collect samples and inspect first run parts
  • Verify dimensional accuracy of manufactured parts using numerous measuring devices, including CMM, micrometer, calipers, height gauges, dial indicator gauges, plug gauges, etc.
  • Read work instructions, blueprints and other specifications to obtain product information
  • Reject defective parts, and notify appropriate personnel when product fails to meet standards
  • Track, record and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate
  • Responsible for quality of work and to appropriately resolving unusual operating conditions
  • All other duties as assigned
