About The Position

Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector - Edwards The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector monitors and evaluates all maintenance actions to ensure safe and reliable aircraft are provided in accordance with current technical manuals, directives, and instructions applicable to the maintenance program. Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for monitoring all safety and quality programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Evaluates flightline and back shop maintenance tasks and inspections. Inspects and verifies completion and documentation of safety and flight discrepancies. Briefs and debriefs pilots and crew members assigned to functional check flights on aircraft. Evaluates personnel, including verification of skills, training and experience. Performs audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment and facilities. Enters inspection and evaluation reports into the appropriate QA database. Reviews maintenance source documents, aircraft inspection records, notes recurring discrepancies or trends and initiates appropriate action. Performs quality management oversight on aircraft maintenance actions to ensure compliance with applicable technical manuals, detects negative trends, develops corrective action plans and ensures completion and satisfactory results. Keeps Leadership abreast of quality of maintenance status and issues. Reviews applicable maintenance forms and deficiency data to determine discrepancy trends and specific problem areas. Ensures compliance with and monitors all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility and job assignment. All other position related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Four (4) or more years general experience in aircraft maintenance and/or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Must have broad working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, inspection techniques, FAA regulations, and Air Force technical publications.
  • Must have a working knowledge of aircraft safety requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills, leadership abilities, and personnel management skills.
  • Must be familiar with Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to retrieve and input data.
  • Ability to research, read and interpret drawings.
  • Ability to write with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable contractual performance work requirements.
  • Must have current state issued drivers license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret clearance.
  • NOTE: U.S. citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work site.
