Key Position Details: 0.5 FTE (40-hours per two week pay period) Day shift with flexible schedule during business hours No weekends Occasional travel to various EMS sites Job Description: Supports the Quality Assurance (QA) and Performance Improvement processes by performing data analysis, visualizing data, managing projects, and contributing clinical expertise. Involves utilizing statistical process control, and various analytics functions, conducting case and clinical peer reviews, ensuring protocol compliance, and supporting the design, development deployment, and management of small to large enterprise clinical programs.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience in emergency medical services field
  • Licenses/Certifications Certified Paramedic-MN Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Source-American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire. After hire recertification required through American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support-American Heart Association or American Red Cross required. After hire recertification required through American Heart Association
  • Valid Driver’s License-Ability to travel up to 25% of time – MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver’s license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Vocational degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related field
  • 2 years experience in quality assurance, performance improvement, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Participates in program development and project management.
  • Assists in managing QA and performance improvement projects, ensuring timely completion and effective outcomes.
  • Supports the development and management of large clinical programs.
  • Conducts data analysis, visualization, and analytics functions.
  • Creates visualizations to clearly communicate data trends and insights.
  • Performs descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Utilizes statistical methods to monitor and control quality.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports on QA and performance improvement data related to EMS operations.
  • Provides clinical expertise within scope of position.
  • Applies clinical knowledge to assess the quality of patient care and EMS operations.
  • Serves as an example of excellent patient care and is recognized and resourced by clinical field staff for questions.
  • Conducts thorough case reviews and participates in peer review processes.
  • Ensures adherence to clinical protocols and standards.
  • Conducts quality reviews and root cause analyses to identify and address issues.
  • Contributes to high reliability organization programs and applies risk-based quality concepts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
