The Quality Informatics Performance Improvement Specialist is responsible for the evaluation and optimization of performance metrics that enhance the quality of patient care, clinical workflows and healthcare operations. This requires knowledge of healthcare practices, informatics, regulatory requirements and quality improvement methodologies to ensure accuracy of regulatory submissions and publicly reported metrics. The Quality Informatics Performance Improvement Specialist partners with hospital and medical staff in performance improvement activities required to support inpatient, outpatient, behavioral health, promoting interoperability and Merit Based Incentive Program (MIPS) regulatory quality programs. The position collaborates with the ITS teams to assure systems support quality reporting programs by analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvements in clinical workflows and outcomes.
