We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our growing team. This role is designed to ensure that Information Technology (IT) products and services are delivered in a manner that meets expectations and achieves the highest level of customer satisfaction and value possible. Providing timely support and applying expertise throughout the entire IT department for hardware, software, networking, security, business processes, and other changes are job requirements. The Quality Assurance Manager will drive test planning, automation, and delivery quality for software development teams while collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Previous experience (3+ yrs.) of Quality Assurance Testing.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer engineering; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Understanding of contemporary quality management principles and practices and the ability to apply them to a wide variety of projects in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Mortgage Originations and Servicing industry and systems experience.
  • Knowledge of methodologies such as SDLC, Agile or Total Quality Management.
  • Knowledge of functionality, compatibility, usability, reliability, exploration, load/stress testing practices.
  • Ability to create and execute QA and testing processes on systems, networks, hardware, and software.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Experience (3+ yrs.) in Mortgage Technologies such as Encompass, Empower, MSP, Land Gorilla, nCino Mortgage Suite, Lending Pad, Floify, etc. will be a plus.
  • Certification from a Professional Organization specific to Software Testing, or Quality Assurance, preferred.
  • Previous work in an Agile SCRUM environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead work efforts for software release testing of other QA Analysts, to include peer review, test case assignments, and training.
  • Manage Quality Assurance professionals and workloads, providing continual feedback and coaching.
  • Lead evaluation of the adequacy and compliance of systems, operations, and practices against regulations and company documentation.
  • Effectively prioritize work queues for optimization to meet deadlines and satisfy business priorities.
  • Focus QA activities on the Encompass LOS environment, including integrated systems, offering deep understanding of business processes and user experience.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including story grooming, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to define acceptance criteria and identify test dependencies early.
  • Log, track, and manage defects and issues in project management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps Boards, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Work with system engineers and other developers to ensure collaboration and best practices are used, while taking direction from management on work assignments.
  • Implement and maintain QA metrics and reporting to measure and communicate software quality and release readiness.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate QA processes within deployment pipelines and ensure smooth test automation execution.
  • Ensure execution of the most current Quality Assurance practices across the IT department.
  • Create and execute test strategies of products that verify enhancements meet business requirements and user expectations.
  • Identify and effectively communicate quality risks and mitigation strategies so the appropriate measures can be taken.
  • Create and run manual and automated tests on our product to ensure any new functionality does not negatively impact the end user experience.
  • Support third party and SaaS systems as needed with technical testing, SQL or other code review.
  • Proactively engage in professional learning regarding the QA and Software Testing industry to strengthen individual contribution to the team.
  • Collaborate with Software Development and Project Management team members to verify products and retain a high-quality standard among our users.
  • Build and enhance QA testing assets and share testing standards and best practices with the broader IT department.
  • Collaborate with IT and Line of Business UAT resources to ensure applicable user acceptance testing prior to deployment.
  • Recommend business process and security improvements as discovered through testing or other team collaboration.
  • Document and communicate test results to project team and management to facilitate a decision for release.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others.
  • Experience documenting regression testing plans, smoke testing, and integration testing.
