This position is responsible for the entire quality function and the continuous improvement of the quality system, document control, calibration, and for customer satisfaction and product quality for Linear Motion business segment. Duties include assuring quality systems are effective, and that the focus for the quality function is on scrap and defect reduction, on time delivery, and customer satisfaction. The Quality Assurance Manager also acts as Management Representative for ISO9001-2015 certification. Manager will coordinate with other departments and quality teams to maintain and improve overall TMA quality, integrity of the QMS and knowledge/system sharing. Major Responsibilities Instruction— Support all company policies and procedures; as well as follow the instructions provided by direct leadership members (including other duties as assigned). Assign duties to hourly and salary employees to ensure production and quality targets are met. Work Area— Maintain a neat and orderly working environment (5S3T) to ensure safety of each member and efficiency of production and accuracy of inventory. Operations —Attain a thorough working knowledge of the operation(s) (including procedures, operations sheets, methods) and internal and external quality system standards and requirements including customer requirements. Understand plant processes using 4M methodology and suggest improvements to achieve Quality targets. Management — Manage the employees of the Quality Assurance Function, lead auditing and calibration and document control including training and development of Quality Engineers, calibration technicians and all Quality Staff. Troubleshooting —Oversee the LM corrective and preventive action program and ensure that root cause analysis, and preventative measures are being implemented by Quality and other Departments to achieve scrap and customer service requirements. Reporting and Records— Report all problems to supervisor; pass pertinent information (including Quality related and customer defect issues) on to other departments and management; where required fill out and maintain Defect Occurrence Reports, calibration status records, audit status records, quality records and minor problems records; maintain other records as necessary. Training— When assigned by the supervisor, give instructions or training to other members. Background Requirements Qualifications: Incumbents must have the aptitude to acquire the basic skills required for this position within the 3-month orientation period; ability to develop or improve quality systems, manage and develop the quality improvement team, actively participate in continuous improvement activities, maintain certifications to quality requirements such as ISO9001, act as lead internal quality auditor when needed, produce scrap analysis reports, initiate internal or supplier corrective action requests, make disposition of nonconforming product.
