About The Position

The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all quality programs, policies, initiatives and products meet the customer’s quality standards. They work in conjunction with others in the Quality Department to reduce the number of defects and improve all levels of quality.

Requirements

2+ years previous experience in a Quality Assurance position
High School diploma or GED
Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and basic shop drawings.
Basic understanding of measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges).

Nice To Haves

5+ year’s previous experience as a Welder/Fabricator
Welding certification(s)

Responsibilities

Perform detailed quality inspections of products and their components at different stages of production. (Machining, Forming, Welding, Assembly)
Performs and documents visual and dimensional inspection on products to determine conformance with customer requirements, technical specifications, manufacturing drawings, and applicable standards
Read and interpret blueprint drawings including Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T)
Measure parts with the CMM, Romer, Optical Comparator
Report non-conforming parts to the QA Manager and/or the Supervisors
Utilize precision measuring equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Etc.)
Work with the scheduling & planning departments to assist in expediting of parts
Familiar with ISO 9001 concepts, practices, and procedures.
First article and PPAP documentation
Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel) to edit/create reports.
