About The Position

Join an industry leader in innovative engineering solutions for large-scale power generation projects. Our company specializes in designing and constructing high-performance power systems for data centers and other mission-critical applications. As we expand our footprint, we are seeking an experienced Quality and Document Control Manager with a background in power generation to ensure our projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. Data center experience is a plus but not required. In this position you will play a crucial role in development, implementing and governing of the Quality Management System (QMS) for our power generation projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, onsite quality and contractors to ensure that all components and systems are inspected, tested, and verified to meet industry standards and project specifications. This position requires a strong technical background in power generation and a dedication to maintaining the quality and integrity of our projects. As the Document Control Manager, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's document control and records management systems across all power generation facilities, projects, and corporate functions. The role ensures that all technical, project, quality, safety, contractual, and administrative documentation is created, reviewed, approved, distributed, stored, and retained in a controlled and auditable manner. You will support projects and operations by ensuring the right information is available to the right people, in the right format, at the right time.

Requirements

  • Experience and understanding of the power generation industry.
  • Several years in a quality leadership role with responsibility for QMS management
  • General electrical installation principals.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience of managing large scale power generation projects in an Engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing audits, corrective action programs, and supplier quality in a technical or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.
  • Competent understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Applicable IT skills – Word, Excel and Microsoft Project, and other software.

  • Solid technical background with an understanding of CHP, Controls, Absorbers, Gas Trains, SCR’s, Exhaust Gas Heat Exchangers & Silencers, Cooling System Radiators.
  • Experience with Renewable Energy
  • Degree/HND/HNC in engineering.
  • Project Management qualification.
  • Experience implementing or managing electronic document management systems (EDMS/DMS such as SharePoint, Procore, or similar platforms)

Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with relevant power-generation standards.
  • Establish quality policies, objectives, KPIs, and audit programs for plants, projects, and supporting functions.
  • Regularly review and update quality standards to reflect new regulations, customer requirements, and lessons learned
  • Provide quality oversight for engineering design reviews, equipment specifications, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and performance testing of power generation units
  • Oversee inspections, testing, and verification activities to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular quality audits, monitor processes, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and contractors to resolve quality-related issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Review and verify supplier and contractor quality documentation, ensuring it aligns with project requirements.
  • Review and approve project quality plans, inspection and test plans, and key technical documentation for power projects
  • Document and report quality performance, including any discrepancies, corrective actions, and improvements.
  • Support the commissioning and startup phases to ensure systems meet operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME, IEC/IEEE, utility codes, local regulatory requirements) as they relate to quality
  • Stay current on emerging standards, codes, and regulatory changes affecting power generation quality requirements
  • Develop and deliver quality training for personnel, project teams, and functions on QA/QC tools, standards, and procedures
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and proactive risk management across the power generation teams
  • Lead and develop the QA/QC team, including plant and project quality leads where applicable
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the document control and records management procedures, workflows, and standards
  • Define and enforce document numbering, naming, templates, and revision control rules
  • Maintain the central electronic document management system (EDMS/DMS) and ensure consistent use across the organization
  • Ensure all controlled documents are current, approved, and accessible to authorized users, and that obsolete versions are removed from use
  • Develop and maintain document control manuals, user guides, and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure document control processes comply with internal policies, quality management system requirements, and relevant regulations or standards
  • Support internal and external audits by providing complete, accurate, and traceable documentation and records
  • Monitor adherence to document control procedures and drive corrective and preventive actions where non-compliances are identified
  • Support project teams by setting up project-specific document structures, transmittal processes, and interfaces with clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Coordinate the receipt, review, and distribution of vendor and contractor documentation, ensuring requirements and deadlines are met
  • Track key deliverables and documentation milestones and escalate risks related to missing or overdue documents
  • Manage document transmittals, and status tracking for engineering, construction, and commissioning phases
  • Manage technical document packages including drawings, specifications, data sheets, manuals, and as-built documentation
  • Lead and develop the document control team, assigning responsibilities and monitoring performance and workload
  • Provide training and day-to-day support to employees and contractors on document control procedures and system use
  • Promote a strong documentation culture focused on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Conduct regular team meetings
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or tools to enhance document management capabilities
  • Identify opportunities to streamline document control processes and implement system or process improvements
  • Administer document management platforms (permissions, folders, workflows, user accounts, and configuration)
