About The Position

Invictus Strategy & Solutions is seeking a QA/QC Manager to support the turnkey design, procurement, installation, integration, commissioning, and turnover of large scale central chiller plant infrastructure in Sweetwater, Texas. This role serves as the lead authority for quality across the full project lifecycle, ensuring that all systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with contract requirements, design intent, and applicable codes and standards. The QA/QC Manager will be actively engaged in field execution, inspections, system validation, and commissioning support, working closely with engineering teams, construction crews, vendors, and commissioning agents. This role requires a hands-on approach to quality management, with direct involvement in inspections, testing, nonconformance resolution, and performance verification. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, along with a disciplined and detail-oriented approach to ensuring system reliability, efficiency, and readiness for final acceptance. This is a full time W2 position based on site in Sweetwater, Texas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8 to 12 years of QA/QC experience supporting large scale mechanical or industrial infrastructure projects
  • Experience supporting design build or turnkey EPC projects
  • Demonstrated experience with central chiller plants, chilled water systems, or large HVAC infrastructure preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, piping systems, and controls
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards including ASHRAE, AHRI, ASME, NEC, NFPA, and OSHA
  • Experience supporting commissioning, system startup, and performance verification
  • Strong field presence with a hands-on approach to inspections and quality enforcement
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong problem-solving capability

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Quality Engineer or similar certification
  • Experience with commissioning processes and performance-based acceptance
  • OSHA 30 Hour certification
  • Experience supporting data centers, utility plants, or large industrial infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Project Quality Management Plan aligned with turnkey delivery requirements
  • Establish inspection and test plans, quality procedures, and acceptance criteria across all project phases
  • Ensure alignment between design intent, performance specifications, and installed systems
  • Review engineering documents including P and IDs, electrical diagrams, layouts, and control sequences for compliance and integration
  • Verify coordination across mechanical, electrical, civil, and controls disciplines
  • Support design reviews to ensure constructability, reliability, and performance requirements are met
  • Review and approve vendor submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate and witness factory acceptance testing for major equipment including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and electrical systems
  • Ensure all equipment meets applicable industry standards and project specifications
  • Perform and oversee inspections of mechanical, electrical, piping, and controls installations
  • Verify installation quality aligns with contract documents and manufacturer requirements
  • Maintain a strong field presence to validate workmanship and resolve quality issues in real time
  • Support and oversee site acceptance testing and commissioning activities
  • Verify system performance against capacity, redundancy, and efficiency requirements
  • Ensure proper execution and documentation of functional and integrated system testing
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of deficiencies during startup
  • Identify, document, and track nonconformance reports
  • Coordinate corrective actions with contractors and vendors
  • Verify closure of all quality issues prior to system acceptance
  • Maintain complete quality records including inspections, testing, and certifications
  • Ensure delivery of as built drawings, O and M manuals, commissioning reports, and warranties
  • Support final acceptance and transition to operations
