About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is looking seeking a Quality Assurance Document Control Analyst at our Toma-Tek facility in Firebaugh, CA. The Neil Jones Food Company processes superior quality, fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. With headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 35 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. This role develops, sets up and maintains the systems, processes, and protocols for coordinating, maintaining, and ensuring the adequacy of recordkeeping and documentation related to production, including a heavy emphasis on quality assurance documentation. Implements records, management systems and control programs for the assigned food processing facility. Ensures that all departments adhere to Corporate and plant processing records retention and control policies and guidance. Monitors the quality system to ensure that the system is operating effectively and reliably.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in quality assurance or related field; or any combination of experience, education or training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • 3+ years of related food manufacturing experience required.
  • Requires advanced skills in use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background, and drug screen and work extended hours and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically early July – October.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with all plant departments to assure that all documents are stored and maintained in the right place and in the right department file archive, and are easily retrievable by authorized personnel.
  • Ensures that all plant quality and production/operation support documents are well checked and submitted on time prior to the documents submission due date.
  • Performs regular audits on plant quality and operating documents in order to ensure that all documents are properly submitted to other departments.
  • Reviews and audits quality, testing, and production records for file validation and document control. Before submitting a document, a document or file must first be checked and approved. The document control specialist has the task of ensuring that all files submitted are approved by the appropriate manager in charge.
  • Works with Quality Assurance lab and Research and Development staff on documentation matters.
