About The Position

The Quality and Inventory Control Technician is responsible for:  For ensuring that products manufactured meet established quality standards and specifications.  Conducting inspections, testing, and documentation throughout the production process to maintain product integrity, support continuous improvement, and ensure customer expectations are met.  Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory through daily cycle counting, discrepancy investigation, and root cause analysis.  This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting production flow, and minimizing material shortages or excess.  The role partners closely with Operations, Shipping/Receiving, Production, and Accounting to identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and help prevent future discrepancies.  All duties must be performed in compliance with safety, sanitation, and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) or sampling plans.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (ability to build, maintain, and analyze spreadsheets).
  • Experience in using RF scanning equipment required.
  • Forklift/tow motor / Powered Industrial Equipment experience preferred; scissor lift certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory processes and material flow within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to analyze inventory transactions including: Shipping and receiving Production usage and waste Finished goods, work-in-process, raw materials Scrap, returns, and inventory adjustments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and root causes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of mathematical accuracy.
  • Proficient with 10-key and general math functions related to inventory and reporting.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and proper grammatical usage.
  • 1–3 years of quality inspection or manufacturing experience (light manufacturing environment preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, first-article, and final inspections of manufactured components and finished goods.
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and test fixtures to verify product dimensions and functionality.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify defects, nonconformities, or deviations from specifications.
  • Conduct basic functional testing when applicable (e.g., fit checks, assembly tests, operational tests).
  • Perform daily cycle counts of materials, work-in-process, finished goods, scrap, and packaging across warehouse and production areas in accordance with Corporate Physical Inventory and Cycle Count policies.
  • Accurately document and reconcile inventory discrepancies, conducting detailed research to determine root causes.
  • Track, analyze, and trend cycle count results, sharing findings with management and accounting on a regular basis.
  • Lead and support corrective actions to address systemic inventory issues and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory transactions, including shipping, receiving, production usage, waste, scrap, returns, and internal material movements.
  • Verify accuracy of inventory adjustments and explain inventory record corrections as required.
  • Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) including forklifts and scissor lifts (certification required).
  • Utilize RF scanning equipment for inventory transactions and counts; assist with training team members as needed.
  • Support annual physical inventory and audit activities.
  • Maintain organized and accurate electronic and written records.
  • Collaborate respectfully and professionally with all departments to resolve inventory issues.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
