About The Position

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications. Quality Management System Auditor (K93 Nuclear Group): Conducts and documents surveillances of work in progress throughout the shipyard to identify non-conformances to requirements and identify opportunities for improvement. Develops audit plans to evaluate processes supporting quality requirements, conducts audits, prepares audit reports. Follows up with auditees to evaluate corrective action development and confirm effective implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with: ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems - Requirements)
  • NAVSEA 0989-062-4000 (Naval Nuclear Quality Assurance Manual for shipyards and the Naval Reactors Facility).
  • American Society for Quality Certified Quality Auditor (ASQ CQA) or ISO Lead Auditor Qualification.
