About The Position

I. PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF THE PROGRAM: The Function of the Quality Parenting Center is to strengthen and preserve relationships and critical connections between children placed in out of home care with their parents, siblings, parents, and other family members. The QPC will offer a variety of services designed to promote and effect successful permanency, strengthen parent child relations and attachments, and reduce the risk for further abuse and neglect. II. POSITION SUMMARY: The coordinator is a bachelor’s level mental health professional who oversees all aspects of service provision within the QPC Program. This position supervises the professional and administrative activities of the program including supervising staff and ensuring adherence to the wrap around model and DCF contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s level mental health professional with a course of study in Social Work or equivalent.
  • Direct service experience, knowledge of case management, family systems, along with exceptional organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with families and children with complex needs and various degrees of family functioning that may be characterized by an array of risk and safety factors.
  • Experience working with child and family serving systems, such as but not limited to, child welfare, judicial, educational, behavioral health and other community-based agencies.
  • Experience in providing direct services to diverse populations.
  • Must be able to climb several flights of stairs.
  • Must be able to work with clients in a variety of settings.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record as well as access to use of a reliable automobile and be willing to drive to both BGV sites and off-site meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees day to day operations of the program including intake/triage, scheduling, staff supervision, and other situations affecting management of care.
  • Provides direction and consultation on the work with each family.
  • Provides weekly supervision.
  • Ensures the documentation for all services in adherence with state statutes, contract, COA standards, and BGV standards.
  • Informs Director of issues/concerns regarding effective delivery of services including significant incidents.
  • Works a flexible work schedule, evening appointments and meetings are considered routine.
  • Maximizes program utilization
  • Completes program data entry requirements for DCF.
  • Represents programs at regional and statewide provider meetings for QPC services.
  • Maintaining a flexible work schedule. May include weekends
  • Provides direct service provision if necessary
  • Keeps Director apprised of all situations which involve the safety of any individuals in the program or community to monitor the impact on the agency as well as its mission of care for children and families.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure the effective operation of the programs.
