About The Position

The Intervention Specialist will collaborate with educators in effecting positive behavior change in students by developing interventions, utilizing ACHIEVE resources, working with students who have violated the student code of conduct, connecting school/home/community in designing plans for support and working with staff in tracking data of students both behaviorally and academically.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in either Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related subject required
  • Proven use of effective collaboration skills
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills required
  • Proficient personal relationship skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with students who demonstrate the need for intensive services
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and delivering training to meet the targeted needs of the identified audience
  • Proficient problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated acumen in completing tasks and dealing with situations related to the essential functions of the position
  • Extensive knowledge and practice setting up structured environments
  • Displays a significant degree of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to conform to proper standards of professional dress and appearance
  • Knowledge of company's mission, purpose, goals and the role of every employee in achieving each of them

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 Years experience in K-12 Education setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a strong foundation in positive behavior supports
  • Designs and implements multi-faceted behavior interventions based on data
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively with parents and professionals
  • Ability to collaborate with all members of the school community
  • Demonstrates confidentiality when dealing with students, parents, and school employees
  • Understands and works with the various support systems available in the school and community
  • Understands and follows district policies and guidelines when dealing with violations of the student code of conduct
  • Understands Special Education regulations including the Least Restrictive Behavior Intervention
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle emotionally charged situations
  • Ability to coach others to apply effective behavior management techniques
  • Assists with additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
