About The Position

RIVA Solutions supports federal health programs under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) by delivering secure, reliable, and compliant technology solutions that support healthcare oversight, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. This role supports applications within a federal health oversight environment that enable program operations, reporting, and compliance activities. RIVA’s work emphasizes quality, accuracy, and operational stability while supporting Agile delivery teams and ensuring systems meet federal security and performance standards. RIVA Solutions is seeking a QA Tester to support a federal health IT program through manual software testing and quality assurance activities. This role is responsible for validating application functionality, data accuracy, and system performance across multiple applications in a fast-paced Agile environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and experienced in manual functional, regression, and data-driven testing. This is a contract position through April with potential for extension based on program needs and performance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in manual software testing (functional and non-functional)
  • Experience using test case management tools such as TestRail
  • Strong experience working with data validation and database testing
  • Proficiency with Excel and common data tools
  • Familiarity with Jenkins
  • Experience using JIRA, Confluence, or similar lifecycle management tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CMS Public Trust background investigation

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting federal health IT systems or CMS programs
  • Experience testing microservices or distributed systems
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working in fast-paced, iterative Agile environments
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access

Responsibilities

  • Conduct manual functional, smoke, and regression testing
  • Perform performance and load testing using JMeter or equivalent tools
  • Develop, execute, and maintain manual test cases and test plans based on requirements and user stories
  • Manage test cases and execution using TestRail
  • Validate application data through database testing and data set creation
  • Execute deployments using Jenkins as part of release activities
  • Support regular patch testing, including occasional after-hours or weekend work as required
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production validation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and standards
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure release readiness
  • Create and maintain testing documentation and deployment support materials
