As a member of the Quality Assurance team, the Tester II will help conduct system-level testing of Aechelon’s Image Generator (IG) products, integration tools and 3D visual databases. In addition, they will participate in the design and development of both individual test cases as well as comprehensive test plans. They will also use existing and future data gathering tools in the generation of test reports and performance evaluations. The Test Engineer reports directly to the Lead Test Engineer. The primary workplace for this position is in the Orlando Aechelon Technology office. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Help develop detailed systems engineering test plans and test cases. Implement the execution of software and product tests. Prepare software defect (bug) reports and performance reports. Investigate and diagnose problems encountered – including the identification of workarounds and/or corrective procedures. Test and evaluate the latest software releases and identify defects and other issues affecting functionality and performance. Work with the Lead Test Engineer to refine Field Acceptance Tests (FATs). Support the Systems Integration Team by confirming SW bugs and developing SW test cases. Help manage the resources necessary for the testing hardware and software products. As much as 10% travel outside of the job location area is anticipated. United States citizenship required due to restrictions on access to certain data. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following: Maintain the software and hardware components of our automated test system. Triage automated test error logs and gather additional information to write bug reports. Assist in developing test plans and designing automated tests using our proprietary test system. Perform manual testing on existing + new features for software releases. Research and report bugs in JIRA. Support test requests from engineers during product development by providing early testing of new features. Communicate with other team members across time zones. Be a resource for others to learn from about our software.

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field
  • 1-3 years’ experience in SW development or SW integration
  • Working knowledge of Computer Graphics
  • Experience with C, C++ and C# programming
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with defect tracking systems such as JIRA, Mantis, etc.
  • Experience with Configuration Management (CM) systems such as Perforce, Razor, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of tools
  • Experience with PC-based IGs
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience with OpenCV Image Processing library
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating System internals
  • Ability to obtain a US DoD security clearance
  • United States citizenship required due to restrictions on access to certain data.
  • Computer Science background with Python or C++ programming experience.
  • Video Game testing experience.
  • Experience with authoring test plans and writing automated tests.
  • Experience with flight simulation software.
  • Experience with VR or MR headset configuration/testing.
  • Experience with Jira, Perforce, Visual Studio, Jenkins, Bash, GitHub.
  • Experience writing technical documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling, GIS, Geospatial or Geotypical content creation.
