About The Position

Northline Seafoods is hiring Quality Assurance Technicians for the 2026 Bristol Bay salmon season, running approximately mid-June through mid-August. This is a position aboard a stationary floating processing facility anchored near Dillingham, AK. This is a hands-on QA position supporting food safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality during salmon processing operations. The QA Technician is responsible for pre-operational inspections, water testing, receiving checks, in-process monitoring, sample collection and retention, label verification, and maintaining accurate lot-coded records used for product disposition and audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a seafood processing, food manufacturing, or another regulated production environment (quality or production experience preferred).
  • Clear verbal and written English communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • HACCP certification (or ability to obtain if employment continues).
  • Strong attention to detail with consistent and accurate recordkeeping skills.
  • Comfortable using computers and spreadsheets.
  • Self-directed, reliable, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using knives or tools as needed for sampling and quality checks.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and document daily pre-operational (pre-op) inspections; verify corrective actions prior to start-up.
  • Perform water quality testing and collect water samples for microbial and chemical analysis as assigned; maintain logs and escalate out-of-specification results.
  • Conduct receiving checks on fish and packaging materials (condition, temperature, identification, lot coding); maintain traceability and lot-code integrity throughout processing.
  • Perform in-process and finished product checks in support of HACCP, BRCGS, GMPs, customer specifications, and internal quality standards; complete required time and temperature checks and document results by lot code.
  • Collect, label, retain, and when required photograph samples by lot code for internal review, troubleshooting, customer support, and off-season reference; maintain organized digital records (often in spreadsheets).
  • Review packaging and labels for accuracy and regulatory compliance (product identity, production dates, lot codes, customer and export requirements); document verification activities.
  • Report non-conformances and support corrective action and verification processes; maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Follow all company safety requirements, including USCG-related documentation where applicable, with a zero-accident mindset.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
