About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our team. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will hold a pivotal role within the procurement process and Procurement team, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of goods and services. Inventory control, contract management, and supplier/vendor management will be crucial in maintaining efficient operations.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist or similar role, although not entirely necessary
Ideally, a strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory control, and contract management
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing
Solid understanding or willingness to learn sourcing strategies and supplier/vendor management principles
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions

Responsibilities

Continuously maintain and improve upon procurement strategies to meet organizational needs
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers/vendors and evaluate their capabilities
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers/vendors to ensure favorable terms and cost savings
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing requirements and provide guidance on sourcing options
Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier/vendor information
Evaluate supplier/vendor performance based on quality, delivery, and pricing metrics
Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives
