About The Position

Purchasing Specialist The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for supporting and optimizing purchasing and supply chain activities, including procurement, planning, logistics coordination, and inventory management. This position ensures materials and supplies are efficiently sourced, monitored, and delivered to meet organizational needs. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Prior experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, procurement, or a similar operational function.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external partners.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and other supply-chain or purchasing tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders.
  • Monitor confirmations, shipments, and deliveries for raw materials, supplies, and goods.
  • Provide cash-flow and purchasing data to the Finance Department as requested.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with suppliers.
  • Address and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Support supplier performance evaluations as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock to support operations.
  • Analyze demand trends to prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory.
  • Maintain internal tracking and planning spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate inbound transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
  • Ensure timely movement of goods and product transfers across facilities.
  • Support cost-effective logistics decision-making.
  • Collect and interpret purchasing and supply chain data to support continuous improvement.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards reflecting key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify process gaps and recommend efficiency enhancements.
