About The Position

A manufacturing company located in Grand Rapids, MI is currently hiring for a Purchasing Assistant. There are many tools with the company that will be trained, but it is a must-have requirement for this individual to have proficiency in Excel. There will be a lot of manual and paper-based duties in the role. This role requires someone who has good critical thinking and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The role also requires someone who would be comfortable speaking with the vendors. Applicants must be located around Grand Rapids, MI for consideration, as this opportunity is 100% onsite Pay - $20/hr. - $25/hr. (Depending on overall relevant qualifications, industry, skills, etc.) Location - Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite) Schedule - Standard Morning Shift; Monday-Friday (40 Hours a Week) Contract Duration - 6 Month Contract To Hire W2 Employment Through Aston Carter

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a business supply chain environment (Purchasing Admin, Purchasing Assistant, Supply Chain Coordinator, etc. would be great).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to think critically and be comfortable learning + managing multiple systems.
  • Strong attention to detail - highly organized.
  • Strong self-motivation, initiative, and results-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • High bonus for having manufacturing environment experience within supply chain/procurement.
  • Experience with Salesforce (CRM), Syspro (ERP), and/or SAP Concur (Accounting Management) is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and investigate internal & external supply chain inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Interact with Sales, Accounting, Customer Service, and all departments throughout the organization.
  • Create, manage, and send purchase orders using multiple systems.
  • Communicate with manufacturing on receipts/damages/inventory adjustments, and enter claims.
  • Process product returns by engaging vendors for RMA’s.
  • Run reports and manage open purchase orders for accuracy.
  • Communicate and process order changes & approvals.
  • Work with Buyers on Domestic & International supply chain issues.
  • Process vendor invoices & credits to the appropriate groups.
  • Data entry for processing and maintaining records.
